Cyclone Threat Prompts Weather Alert for Karachi and Sindh Coast

A deep depression over the Indian Rann of Kutch is likely to move into the Arabian Sea. The Meteorological Department has issued a cyclone alert for the Sindh coast due to severe low-pressure winds in the region.

This low-pressure system, currently in the runoff area, is expected to reach the Sindh coastline by tonight or tomorrow and may develop into a cyclone. Heavy rains are forecasted for Karachi, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Hyderabad, and Tando Muhammad Khan.

The Cyclone Warning System is closely monitoring the situation. The deep depression has been progressing slowly over the past 12 hours and is anticipated to enter the Northeast Arabian Sea late tonight or by tomorrow morning. It could intensify into a storm.

Heavy rainfall is also expected in lower Sindh, northeast and central Balochistan, northeast and central Punjab, Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir.
