Milkman Faces Theft Charges After Supporting Imran Khan on Social Media

A milk vendor from Sanghar was detained in connection with a motorcycle theft case after expressing support for Imran Khan on social media.

Reports indicate that the arrest occurred just two days after the vendor, Nazeemuddin Shar, voiced his support for Imran Khan during a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) protest rally, demanding his release and calling him the “only honest leader.” Following his post, a motorcycle theft case was filed against him at the Sanghar Police Station.

Shar was apprehended early in the morning near Kundi Wah while traveling from his village to the city. Police took him to an undisclosed location, causing distress to his family, who were initially unaware of his whereabouts. His relatives later learned of his arrest through social media and were informed by the police that he was detained on motorcycle theft charges.

Shar’s parents have denied the accusations, asserting that their son has no criminal history, and accused the police of fabricating the case.

The arrest has drawn condemnation from his family and local legal professionals, who argue that this move is part of a broader crackdown on PTI supporters in the region. Lawyers have called the arrest politically motivated, citing the government’s ongoing actions against Imran Khan’s supporters in Sanghar.
