Peoples Bus Service Staff Robbed at Gunpoint in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed

Armed robbers carried out a late-night heist in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed, looting over Rs1.15 million from the staff of the Peoples Bus Service at gunpoint.

According to driver Sher Jan, the robbery took place at the final stop of the bus service while he and other employees were resting. Six armed men arrived in a vehicle, with two remaining inside while four entered the premises, one of whom was masked.

The robbers forced the staff inside a bus where the cashier and a transport officer were seated. “They held us at gunpoint and demanded cash,” Sher Jan informed the police. The criminals also took a security guard’s weapon and mobile phone before fleeing the scene.

The suspects escaped with Rs1.15 million in cash, raising serious concerns about the security of public transport facilities.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir confirmed that an investigation is in progress. “We have collected evidence from the site, and a case has been registered. The suspects will be apprehended soon,” he stated.

The incident has sparked fear among transport workers, who are now urging authorities to strengthen security at bus terminals, particularly during late hours.

Meanwhile, another robbery occurred last week in Karachi’s Landhi area, where armed criminals targeted citizens purchasing milk for Sehri.

CCTV footage captured three armed robbers storming a milk shop at Landhi No. 2 Model Park, looting cash, mobile phones, and valuables from customers at gunpoint. Despite the presence of several people, the robbers managed to flee without encountering any resistance.

The CCTV footage, which has since gone viral, clearly shows the assailants taking their time looting before calmly walking away. Police promptly responded to the incident and arrived at the scene shortly after.

Using the footage, authorities have obtained clear images of the suspects and launched an investigation to track them down. Law enforcement has also contacted the victims, requesting them to file formal complaints to aid the investigation.
