vPM Shehbaz Arrives in Karachi for One-Day Visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on a one-day visit, where he was welcomed by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori. During his visit, the premier planned to pay respects at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and hold meetings with various stakeholders.

He was scheduled to meet with representatives of allied parties to discuss political and economic matters. Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif planned to meet with businesspersons and investors to brief them on ongoing and overall projects.

In a separate development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the deliberate delay in tax proceedings and suspended the Inland Revenue Islamabad chief commissioner and other officials. He emphasized that any negligence or shortcuts in tax matters would not be tolerated, reaffirming his commitment to tax system reforms to safeguard the national exchequer.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had highlighted the effectiveness of the Chinese language as a global communication tool. He noted its inclusion as an official language by the United Nations (UN) and the increasing popularity of Chinese language learning in Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed determination to promote Chinese language and literature in the country, aiming to strengthen ties between Pakistan and China through linguistic and cultural exchanges.
