Police Lodge FIR For Karachi Businessman Abduction After Four Days

Police have initiated a case and investigation into the abduction of prominent industrialist Businessman Zulfiqar Ahmed, four days after his kidnapping. The incident occurred on Mauripur Road and has caused significant alarm within both the business sector and the general public.

An FIR was lodged following a complaint from the manager of Ahmed’s textile mill, where he was last seen. The report details that Ahmed, traveling to Clifton with a friend, was intercepted by a vehicle without a license plate on Mauripur Road.

Armed assailants forced both men into their car; however, they released Ahmed’s friend after a short distance, but took Ahmed with them. Ahmed’s phone has remained off since the incident.

On Thursday, the Sindh High Court issued notices to various authorities, including federal and provincial law officers and Sindh’s inspector general of police, following a petition for Ahmed’s recovery.

Anber Zulfiqar, the petitioner and Ahmed’s wife, stated that her husband, a leading businessman and managing director of textile and oil companies, was abducted on July 23 while traveling with his friend Qaiser. Qaiser was released later, but Ahmed’s whereabouts remain unknown.

The family reported the incident to police and other agencies but received no updates. The court was requested to compel the police to locate Ahmed, prevent any potential criminal charges against him, and hold those responsible for his abduction accountable.
