The Sindh Assembly has approved an amended pension and gratuity bill for provincial government employees.
The bill was presented during a session led by Deputy Speaker Naveed Anthony, where members from both the opposition and government engaged in heated debates.

- Employees hired after July 1, 2024, will be entitled to pension and gratuity benefits under the new legislation.
- Government employees will be able to retire after completing 20 years of service.

- In the event of an employee’s death, their family will be eligible for pension benefits under the new law.
Additionally, the assembly approved the amendment bill for the Sindh Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, which transfers administrative control from the Health Department to the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. During the session, Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar emphasized that the government will not tolerate any illegal activities, particularly those disrespecting the sanctity of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
