On Friday, a group of terrorists attacked a security facility in Balochistan, and an operation to apprehend the perpetrators was underway, according to the military’s media wing.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a Frontier Corps (FC) Camp in the Muslim Bagh area of Northern Balochistan was attacked early Friday morning.

“Commander 12 Corps is supervising security forces operations being conducted in the Muslim Bagh area of Balochistan, where terrorists have been cornered into a building complex,” military sources said. According to the report, at least two of them have already been killed.

“The security forces continue to maintain pressure on the terrorists,” the statement continued, adding that a “heavy exchange of fire is taking place.”

“During the clearance operation, two soldiers embraced shahadat (martyrdom), while three others were injured.”

Seven terrorists were killed two weeks ago in Lakki Marwat as security forces bravely fought off three assaults in a short period of time between April 28 and 29, according to the ISPR.

Three soldiers were also killed in a fierce exchange of fire with terrorists in Lakki Marwat town and the general vicinity of Amir Kalam and Tajbi Khel.

Maj-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the ISPR’s first director general, revealed during his first press conference on April 25 that 8,269 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) had been carried out since January, with 1,535 terrorists killed or apprehended as a result.

Balochistan received 4,040 IBOs, K-P received 3,591, Punjab received 119, and Sindh received 519 operations. Since January, the army, police, and LEAs have conducted over 70 IBOs on average per day.
