The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has officially confirmed that the moon of Shaban was not sighted anywhere in the entire country. Consequently, the committee has declared that the 1st of Sha’ban 1445 Hijri will fall on Monday, February 12, and Shab-e-Barat will be observed on February 26.

Upon the announcement by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the Ministry of Religious Affairs promptly issued a notification to inform the public of the official decision.Shaban, the eighth month of the Islamic calendar, holds special significance for Muslims.

The fifteenth night of Shaban is recognized as the ‘Night of Records’ or Shab-e-Barat.
This month is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, it marks the time when Muslims begin preparations for the holy month of Ramadan.

Additionally, it was during the middle of the month of Shaban that Muslims believe Almighty Allah instructed Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) to change the Qiblah, the direction faced during prayers, from Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem to the Holy Kaabah in Makkah.
