Three More Former Army Officers have been Detained for Violating Military Discipline

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed in a statement that alongside the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) proceedings against Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed, three other retired officers are currently in military custody for actions deemed detrimental to military discipline. The statement further mentioned that ongoing investigations are examining the involvement of certain retired officers and their associates in activities that allegedly aimed to destabilize the country, influenced by political interests.

Among those reportedly arrested are Brigadier (Retd) Ghaffar, Brigadier (Retd) Naeem, and a retired Colonel. On August 12, the FGCM process began against Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed, who was taken into military custody related to the Top City case. ISPR noted that the Pakistan Army, following the orders of the Supreme Court, conducted a thorough court of inquiry into the complaints against him, leading to the initiation of disciplinary actions under the Pakistan Army Act.

The statement also revealed that multiple violations of the Pakistan Army Act by Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed post-retirement were established. This inquiry was initiated in April 2024 by the Pakistan Army in response to allegations made by the owner of a private housing society, with an inquiry committee led by a Major General appointed to investigate the charges.
