The recent twin bomb explosions in Balochistan’s Pishin and Qilla Saifullah districts have resulted in a tragic loss of lives and raised concerns about security ahead of tomorrow’s elections.
The blast in Pishin targeted the election campaign office of independent candidate Asfandyar Khan Kakar, while the bombing in Qilla Saifullah occurred outside the election office of JUI-F.
At least 24 people were killed, with 14 fatalities reported in Pishin and 10 in Qilla Saifullah. Numerous others were injured, and many are receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities.

Balochistan’s caretaker Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, Mir Zubair Khan Jamali, condemned the attacks and sought a detailed report on the incidents. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the continuation of the electoral process despite attempts to disrupt it.
Security forces swiftly cordoned off the blast sites, and emergency services initiated rescue operations. The injured were promptly shifted to medical facilities for treatment.
Today’s explosions are the latest in a series of attacks targeting electoral offices and candidates in the rest of the province ahead of tomorrow’s general elections.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar expressed grief over the loss of lives and ordered for the injured to be provided all medical assistance. He affirmed the government’s determination to conclude the electoral process peacefully.
Interim Interior Minister Gohar Ejaz strongly condemned the attacks, denouncing the perpetrators as “inciteful elements” aiming to create chaos. He emphasized the government’s resolve to thwart any attempts to disrupt the electoral process.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also condemned the terrorist attacks, vowing to bring those responsible to justice. PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the lives lost and vowed that such cowardly acts would not dampen their spirits.
The incidents add to a series of recent explosions targeting election-related venues across Balochistan, prompting concerns about security as the country approaches the elections.
