Who are the Arrested Retired Brigadiers, Colonel in Faiz Hameed Case?

Three retired army officers have been taken into military custody in connection with the Field General Court Martial proceedings of retired Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, according to a statement from Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). The officers were arrested for actions deemed prejudicial to military discipline.

The military’s media wing also noted that investigations are ongoing into certain retired officers and their accomplices for allegedly creating instability in collusion with vested political interests, though the identities of the arrested individuals were not disclosed.

However, media reports have identified the arrested officers as Brigadier (Retired) Ghaffar, Brigadier (Retired) Naeem, and Colonel (Retired) Asim. Both retired brigadiers, originally from Chakwal, were reportedly involved in political activities and coordination between a political party and Faiz Hameed after their retirement.

It was earlier reported that retired Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, former chief of the ISI, was taken into custody for violating military discipline, and court martial proceedings against him have commenced.
