"Pakistani Snooker Champ Ahsan Ramzan Arrested"

Ahsan Ramzan, the celebrated young snooker talent from Pakistan, encountered a legal predicament when his snooker club continued to operate beyond the permitted hours. As the second youngest world amateur snooker champion ever, the 21-year-old prodigy faced detainment by local authorities following an incident that occurred late at night.

The snooker club in Lahore, which Ramzan co-owns, was reportedly found open until 2 am, in violation of the 10 pm closing time mandated by the local police. Despite Ramzan’s attempts to clarify his credentials and assert his innocence, he endured a distressing ordeal and spent a brief period in custody until a friend intervened and secured his release.

Ramzan expressed his disappointment with the treatment he received from the authorities and conveyed his frustration. He felt that this incident cast a shadow over his proud contributions to Pakistan’s reputation on the international snooker stage. Consequently, he requested an inquiry into the matter from Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi.

In 2021, Ramzan gained fame as the second youngest player to win the world amateur snooker championship, joining an elite group of Pakistani snooker players who have achieved this prestigious title, including Mohammad Yousuf and Mohammad Asif.
