Five individuals, four of whom are Pakistanis, have been arrested in Saudi Arabia on charges related to drug trafficking. The detentions were the result of a collaborative operation involving Saudi intelligence agencies and the anti-narcotics division in Riyadh.
The apprehensions followed credible information received by Saudi authorities regarding the involvement of these individuals in drug-related activities. According to a report from a Saudi news source, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control verified that the four Pakistani detainees were in possession of 1.9 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly referred to as “ice.”

In a separate incident in Makkah, another suspect was taken into custody with 3.4 kilograms of hashish found in their belongings.
All five individuals have been moved to a police station to undergo the necessary legal procedures.
In a parallel incident in the Jazan province, border guards encountered drug traffickers during their routine patrols. However, the suspects managed to flee the scene, leaving behind a significant quantity of 111 kilograms of illegal drugs. This occurrence underscores the ongoing challenges Saudi authorities face in their efforts to combat drug smuggling across various parts of the country.
