According to a news release published by the Prime Minister’s Office, the IMF MD stated that the prime minister made a very strong case, albeit the IMF Board was suspicious of Pakistan’s commitment to meeting the terms of the agreement due to a previous trust gap.

However, given her continuous involvement with the prime minister, she assured the Board that Pakistan will fulfill its pledges, as she had personally met the prime minister and witnessed his seriousness to do so. She emphasized that both parties now have a great collaboration and mutual trust. She promised Pakistan that the IMF will continue to assist it, referring to it as an essential member.

During the prime minister’s contact with Georgieva in Paris, the prime minister praised her for her optimistic attitude and candid remarks. The prime minister guaranteed that he will not accept even the slightest breach of this agreement.

“This government will be in place until August, when an interim government will take over, and he is confident that they will continue to meet their obligations.” If the people of Pakistan re-elect him, he is dedicated to turning around the economy with the help of the IMF and development partners, according to the Prime Minister.

The prime minister stated that it will be a pleasure to deliver a gift of Pakistani mangoes to the Managing Director as a symbol of respect and profound thanks.
