Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the interim prime minister, was served with a summons on Tuesday by a civil court in Gujranwala regarding the recent rise in the cost of petroleum goods.
In response to the increase in gas prices, Judge Mohammad Awais summoned the acting PM, the secretary of petroleum, and the Gujranwala commissioner.

On September 16, attorney Manzoor Qadir submitted a petition calling for a restraining order on the caretaker government’s plan to raise fuel prices. The petition claims that the interim prime minister and other authorities are “concerned parties” who are to blame for the price increase.
