PM Shehbaz has said that Eidul Adha holidays will be extended in 2023.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the Eid holiday will be extended from June 28 to July 1st.

The federal government declared three Eidul Adha vacations shortly after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon on Monday.

According to an earlier Cabinet Division statement, “[…] it is for general knowledge that the Prime Minister is happy to authorise the following public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha:

29th and 30th June, 2023 (Thursday and Friday) for offices that work five days a week; and

29th June to 1st July, 2023 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) for offices working six days a week.”

The Prime Minister has now extended the Eid holiday from June 28 to July 1st.

Meanwhile, Eidul Adha vacations in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will run from 9 Zul Hijjah to 12 Zul Hijjah, or from Tuesday June 27 to Friday June 30, with Saturday and Sunday included as weekend holidays. Employees who take a day off before the Eid holidays, i.e. Monday, will receive a full week off.
