The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported that a westerly wave is expected to enter the upper parts of Pakistan on Thursday evening.
This marks the end of the monsoon season in the country. Under the influence of this weather system, rain and wind/thunderstorms (moderate to isolated heavy falls) are anticipated in various regions, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and more from September 28th to 30th.

Snowfall is also forecasted in high mountain areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan during this period.
Additionally, rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms (at isolated places) are expected in various other regions across Pakistan, leading to a significant drop in temperatures. The PMD has advised farmers and travelers to take precautions during this weather event.
