Maryam Claims Nawaz's Opponents Are Shying Away from Public Scrutiny

Speaking to a gathering of the Muslim Student Federation (MSF), the party’s student organization, she recalled the moment of her detention in front of Nawaz Sharif and described the distress he felt.  “Despite his feelings, he gave me advice to remain composed and calm.”

Maryam Nawaz talked about the difficulties she encountered in her court struggles while reiterating her innocence.

She described the hassle of needing to go to court. She vowed to assist her father through his difficult times no matter what others said. “Those who attempted to weaken me will see how, by God’s grace, I become your strength.”

Maryam Nawaz took a shot at the five-member Supreme Court bench that rendered the ruling disqualifying her father, calling it the “iqama bench” that God will not pardon, even if she could find it in her heart to do so.

She noted the detrimental effects recent inflation and economic unrest had on Pakistanis who were already struggling to make ends meet while blaming the bench of the supreme court.

Nawaz Sharif’s impending arrival in Pakistan on October 21 was also underlined by the PML-N vice president, who described it as a fresh sign of hope for the country.

She said that her father, Nawaz Sharif, was the driving force behind Pakistan’s decision to become a nuclear state and dared anyone to provide one of Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI,’s ideas.

She praised the accomplishments of the PML-N administration and claimed that the metro bus system presently available to Peshawar residents was a project that her party had instigated.

She compared the dreadful status of the nation in 2013 when the PML-N gained power, when load-shedding was frequent and could last up to 20 hours, to the beneficial effects of Nawaz Sharif’s three-year administration, when load-shedding was removed and the growth rate increased to 6.1%.
