Nawaz and Shehbaz Likely to Seek Fazlur Rehman’s Support for Amendment

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N president Nawaz Sharif are expected to visit Maulana Fazlur Rehman to secure his support for the proposed constitutional amendment.

To date, the government has yet to present the constitutional amendment draft to the federal cabinet or parliament. As the government delegation departs, a PTI delegation, including Shibli Faraz and Asad Qaiser, arrives at Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence to discuss and seek his support for the amendment package.

Reports indicate that Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and Ishaq Dar will also soon visit Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Additionally, Khursheed Shah, Chairman of the Parliamentary Special Committee, revealed that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has shown interest in attending the committee meeting. The government requires a two-thirds majority in both the National Assembly and Senate to pass the amendment.
