New Twist Arise in the Murder Case of PTI Leader Dr. Shahid

A significant development has emerged in the murder case of PTI leader Dr. Shahid Siddique, a prominent private hospital owner, who was killed in Lahore. The Organized Crime Unit (OCU) Iqbal Town has detained his son, Qayyum Shahid, on allegations of facilitating the murder.

Police sources indicate that Qayyum was arrested based on substantial evidence linking him to the crime, with accusations that he assisted shooters in killing his father. The murder case was initially reported by Dr. Shahid’s second son, Taimur, who detailed in the FIR that Qayyum and another brother, Sajid, were present when Dr. Shahid was attacked.

According to the FIR, Qayyum was positioned in front of Dr. Shahid’s car when the shooter approached and opened fire.

Dr. Shahid Siddique was fatally shot outside a mosque in Valencia Town, Lahore, shortly after Friday prayers. An assailant fired four shots at him as he was leaving the mosque.

The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, with authorities considering the possibility of a targeted killing. Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Usman Anwar, has instructed immediate action to capture the perpetrator(s) and requested a comprehensive report from the DIG Operations to resolve the case swiftly.
