Prior to Barrister Gohar’s arrest, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Zain Qureshi, and Shahid Khattak were with him inside the Parliament House.

Police officials confirmed that Umar Ayub and Zartaj Gul are also on the list of those to be arrested, while Ali Muhammad Khan managed to leave the premises before being taken into custody.

Sher Afzal Marwat’s arrest was made under a new law, as he was accused of violating regulations and being involved in a clash with police.

Sources suggest a crackdown is expected on PTI leaders from Punjab who were present at the rally. Islamabad police have officially informed Punjab police of the impending actions.

Cases have been registered against PTI leaders at three police stations under the Assembly and Public Order Act 2024, including charges of obstructing official duties, vandalism, and violations of Section 144.

Following the conclusion of the National Assembly session, a significant police presence assembled outside the Parliament House. As PTI leaders emerged, police took their positions and detained Sher Afzal Marwat.

A brief scuffle occurred between Marwat’s supporters and the police during the arrest, but authorities managed to seize him and his vehicle before leaving.

The Parliament House remains under heavy police surveillance, with all entry and exit points to the Red Zone sealed off, including D-Chowk, NADRA Chowk, Serena, and Marriott. Currently, the only accessible route into and out of the Red Zone is via Margalla Road.
