Shafqat Mahmood, a former Federal Minister and prominent leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced his retirement from politics through a statement on social media platform X. Mahmood revealed that after careful consideration, he has decided to step away from his political career to focus on writing and teaching.
He clarified that his decision to retire is not influenced by external pressures and that he has no plans to join another political party. Mahmood cited the natural progression of time and age as the primary reasons for his departure from politics.

In his statement, Mahmood expressed gratitude to PTI’s founder for the opportunities provided and thanked both the PTI and his constituency voters for the honor of representing them in his political career.
