Prices for fuel and diesel will decline. Shaheryar Hassan

Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, announced a price cut for petroleum products per litre of up to Rs8 on Wednesday evening.

Speaking to the media, he said the cost of fuel will drop by Rs. 8, the cost of light-speed and high-speed diesel by Rs. 5, while the cost of kerosene oil would stay the same. Petrol would now cost Rs262, high-speed and light-speed diesel would cost Rs253 and Rs147, respectively, while kerosene oil would cost Rs164.70 per litre.

He continued by saying that there had been no significant change in petroleum product pricing over the previous fifteen days and that the administration had considered all relevant aspects before announcing new rates.
