Interim Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar convened a meeting with provincial finance ministers at the Finance Division.
The meeting included the Chief Minister of Sindh, Finance Ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, federal and provincial finance secretaries, the federal secretary planning, and senior government officials.

The meeting addressed various issues, including reviewing spending patterns of the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), controlling essential commodity prices, improving the quality of services in education and health sectors, and strengthening social safety nets for the general public. The provinces assured their commitment to controlling prices, enhancing service quality in health and education, and maintaining financial discipline.
Dr. Akhtar emphasized the importance of federal-provincial coordination for economic growth and efficient public expenditure arrangements, with a focus on social protection. She encouraged provinces to achieve expenditure and revenue targets for the current fiscal year, ensuring the primary budget deficit targets are met.
The meeting also recommended prioritizing federal-funded projects that fall under provincial subjects following the devolution of power.
