PTI's Shoaib Shaheen to Pursue Legal Action Over NA-47 Results

PTI-backed candidate Shoaib Shaheen, in a media address on Friday, strongly criticized the results of NA-47 where PML-N’s Tariq Fazal Chaudhry was declared the winner, announcing his intention to pursue both political and legal avenues in response to what he perceived as injustice.

Expressing grievances over what he described as “injustice and oppression against the PTI”, Shaheen claimed that their nomination papers were unfairly rejected and accused the Returning Officers (RO) of being involved in corruption.

Shaheen alleged that their electoral symbol, the bat, was unjustly taken away, blaming the Supreme Court for allowing such injustices to occur. He claimed to have had a lead of over 50,000 votes, while his opponents had a total of only 40,000 votes.

According to Shaheen, his votes were somehow added to Tariq’s vote count, despite him not trailing behind Tariq in any of the polling station results. He criticized the Election Commission for what he deemed as inappropriate conduct during the election process.

Shaheen expressed his willingness to address any concerns raised against him and mentioned that every candidate was supposed to be provided with Form 45. He questioned the fairness of the democratic process, suggesting that votes may have been tampered with.

Accusing the authorities of undermining the foundations of democracy and causing harm to the state, Shaheen declared his intent to protest and challenge the election result. He emphasized that the current struggle was not merely for power but for the survival of the people.

Shaheen asserted that they had the complete results by 11 PM and vowed to go to court to challenge what he described as dishonesty in the election process. He claimed that there had been a discrepancy of over 50,000 votes, indicating a potential case of electoral fraud.
