Dr. Riaz Anwar, Special Advisor to the Caretaker Chief Minister on Health, emphasized the crucial role of trained medical professionals in the healthcare system. While a 30% raise was not feasible due to current economic conditions, Health Secretary Mahmood Islam noted that trainee medical officers had not received an increase in stipends since 2017.

The meeting also addressed the diphtheria outbreak, with 269 reported cases and assurances of adequate anti-diphtheria serum availability. Medical teaching institutions and district headquarters hospitals were instructed to establish isolation wards for diphtheria patients.
