Additionally, Karachi Kings engaged in a trade that involved their captain and Player of the Tournament from the last season, Imad Wasim. Imad Wasim was traded with Islamabad United’s Hasan Ali. The trading and team restructuring come as franchises prepare for the upcoming season, making strategic moves to enhance their squads.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier released the list of retained players by all six franchises. Notable players were not retained by their respective franchises, including star pacer Mohammad Amir (Karachi Kings), power hitter Asif Ali (Islamabad United), off-spinner Mohammad Nawaz (Quetta Gladiators), and pacer Arshad Iqbal (Peshawar Zalmi). Franchises engaged in trades and swaps to reshape their squads for the upcoming season.

The trade dynamics also involved Islamabad United, who initially had the first pick in Platinum, which they traded with Quetta Gladiators for Naseem Shah, along with two players, Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Junior. Subsequently, Quetta continued the trade process, bringing back Rilee Russouw in a swap deal with Multan Sultans. In this exchange, Iftikhar Ahmed, along with the first pick in Platinum, went to Quetta Gladiators, the 2021 PSL winners. Multan Sultans now possess the first pick in the Platinum round as well as Silver. The trading and reshuffling of players add anticipation and excitement to the upcoming PSL season.
