Shaukat Khanum Elevates Pakistan to 6th Globally in Cancer Care

The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) in Pakistan has achieved certification from the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) Certification Program, affiliated with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

This makes Pakistan the first nation in South Asia and the sixth globally, outside the United States, to receive this recognition.

The QOPI Certification Program assesses outpatient hematology-oncology practices and awarded SKMCH&RC a three-year certification, signifying the hospital’s commitment to delivering high-quality cancer care, accessible to all patients, regardless of their financial means.

The hospital underwent a rigorous site evaluation and met the stringent standards set by the QOPI Certification Program.
