Significant Spike in Gold Rates Across Pakistan

The price of gold in Pakistan skyrocketed on Thursday, marking a notable increase.

As per the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of gold, specifically 24-carat gold, saw a substantial rise by Rs. 2,200 per tola, settling at Rs. 222,800. Simultaneously, the rate for 10 grams of gold surged by Rs. 1,886, reaching Rs. 191,015.

This surge signifies the third consecutive increase in gold prices throughout the week. It commenced with a rise of Rs. 300 per tola on Tuesday, followed by a further increase of Rs. 1,000 per tola on Wednesday. The cumulative surge in gold prices over the week totals Rs. 3,500 per tola.

Globally, gold also hit a more than three-week high, maintaining its position with spot gold standing firm at $2,078.35 per ounce as of 1005 GMT. Concurrently, the US gold futures were recorded at $2,088.40.
