Sindh Inspector General Riffat Mukhtar Raja has directed officials to bolster the election security plan in response to recent law and order challenges in the provincial capital. During a meeting, the police chief emphasized the importance of not overlooking any information related to “minor incidents” and stressed prompt follow-up actions to prevent escalations.

The directive includes an expansion of the intelligence network around polling stations, with a particular focus on the surrounding areas. Swift responses are deemed essential for addressing code of conduct violations during patrolling. The plan also calls for increased random snap checks, reconnaissance activities, and heightened monitoring of vulnerable areas.

The move comes in the wake of a law and order situation on Friday night in the New Karachi area, where clashes between political workers from two parties resulted in the tragic death of a teenager. The enhanced security measures aim to ensure a safe and secure environment during the upcoming elections.
