England Fast Bowler, Mark Wood Exclude from the Upcoming Series Against Pakistan

England fast bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of the upcoming series against Pakistan due to an elbow injury, which will also keep him out for the remainder of the year.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that Wood’s injury, sustained during the West Indies series, will prevent him from participating in the Pakistan tour and the series against New Zealand.

Although he continued playing despite discomfort and a subsequent thigh injury during the Sri Lanka Test, medical scans have revealed a bone stress injury in his right elbow.

Wood is expected to miss England’s winter Test tours of Pakistan and New Zealand but aims to return to full fitness by early 2025, in time for the white-ball tour of India and the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

The ECB noted that specialists are monitoring Wood’s condition, and his rehabilitation will require complete rest and medical care to ensure a full recovery.
