Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah has accepted a 50% match-fee fine for a Level 2 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first T20I against New Zealand in Christchurch on March 16.

Khushdil was penalized under Article 2.12 for “inappropriate physical contact” after forcefully barging into New Zealand’s Zakary Foulkes in the eighth over. Match officials deemed the act “reckless and avoidable.” He also received three demerit points, marking his first offence in 24 months.

Match Referee Jeff Crowe sanctioned Shah, who accepted the penalty, avoiding a formal hearing. If he accumulates four demerit points within two years, it could lead to a suspension.

Despite the sanction, Shah played in the second T20I, scoring 2 runs and taking 1 wicket as New Zealand defeated Pakistan by five wickets.
