Marsh, who struggled during the series, scored only 73 runs at an average of 10.42, leading to his exclusion.

Meanwhile, fast bowler Mitchell Starc, despite dealing with a rib injury, will play in the New Year’s Test.

Cummins praised Starc’s resolve, stating that missing the match was never an option for the pacer.

Australia leads the five-match series 2-1, with the final Test starting tomorrow at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
