Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal suffered a heart attack during a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) match in Savar on Monday. The 35-year-old, who was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club, experienced chest pain during the first innings and was rushed to the hospital.

Doctors performed an emergency angioplasty to clear a blockage in his heart. Tamim was initially taken to KPJ Specialised Hospital, where tests confirmed the heart attack. His condition is now stable, and he remains under observation.
The veteran cricketer had announced his retirement from international cricket earlier in 2025. Fans and fellow cricketers have poured in their prayers for his swift recovery.
