Yash Dayal Banned from Domestic Cricket Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Indian fast bowler Yash Dayal has been banned from playing domestic cricket following serious allegations. He will miss the upcoming Uttar Pradesh T20 League, which starts on August 17. Dayal was expected to play for Gorakhpur Lions, but his contract has been suspended.

The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association confirmed the ban. They said Dayal will not participate in the tournament until the investigation concludes.

The allegations against Dayal came after a woman filed a complaint on June 21. She accused the RCB fast bowler of cheating and sexual assault. The woman said she was in a five-year relationship with Dayal. She claimed he promised marriage but later refused. According to her, this caused emotional and physical harm.

Another complaint was filed separately in Jaipur by a 17-year-old girl. She accused Dayal of sexually abusing her when she was a minor. The abuse reportedly lasted two years. The girl also said she was emotionally blackmailed with false promises about her cricket career.

A local court rejected Dayal’s request for interim protection. Justice Sudesh Bansal set the next hearing for August 22.

The news has raised concerns in the cricket community and fans. The IPL and domestic cricket bodies have been urged to ensure strict action in cases of misconduct.

Yash Dayal’s ban from the Uttar Pradesh T20 League is a significant step amid these allegations. The investigation is ongoing, and more updates are expected after the next court hearing.

This incident highlights the need for accountability in sports. The IPL and other cricket leagues continue to monitor such matters closely to maintain integrity and safety in the sport.
