The deployed Army and Rangers units will work in coordination with local police to ensure tight security measures are in place. Specifically, one wing of Rangers and two companies of the Army will be stationed in each of the three cities. Additionally, support from Special Services Group (SSG) commandos and Army Aviation helicopters has been requested for enhanced security coverage.
The PSL 10 matches are scheduled to run from April 11 to May 18. However, the deployment of security forces has been planned from April 6 to May 19 to cover all necessary preparations and post-event measures.
Given the participation of both local and international players, match officials, and dignitaries, the event is considered high-profile, requiring comprehensive and robust security arrangements.
Earlier, the Punjab Home Department had officially reached out to the Ministry of Interior to secure the presence of Army and Rangers for the event’s protection.
