Santos did not specify how long Neymar would be unavailable and did not immediately respond to Reuters for further comment. He was already set to miss Thursday’s league game against Fortaleza due to suspension.

This upcoming match will be Santos’ final game before the Brazilian league takes a break for the Club World Cup, which runs from June 14 to July 13 in the United States.

Neymar’s future at Santos remains uncertain, with his current contract set to expire on June 30. Hampered by injuries this season, he has played 12 matches in all competitions, recording three goals and three assists.
