PSB Grants NOC for Women’s Team to Compete in SAFF Championship

PSB

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the national women’s football team, allowing them to participate in the upcoming SAFF Women’s Football Championship. This decision comes despite procedural lapses from the football normalization committee, with the PSB prioritizing national interest.

The women’s team, consisting of 24 players and 8 officials, is set to depart for Kathmandu to compete in the championship from October 17 to 30. Their opening match will be against India, marking a crucial start to their campaign.

The PSB has emphasized the importance of following proper procedures, urging federations to apply for NOCs well in advance and submit profiles of all players and officials. The board has also required a performance report following the championship.

This NOC approval follows earlier uncertainty due to procedural delays, including missing signatures from key officials. The last-minute approval ensures that Pakistan’s women’s team can now represent the country in the SAFF tournament, overcoming previous challenges between the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and the PSB.
