Babar Azam has played 108 matches for Pakistan and is widely regarded as their best batsman. He has amassed 5409 runs in 105 innings with an impressive average of 58.16. Babar has 19 centuries and 28 fifties to his name and holds the record for being the fastest to reach 5000 ODI runs, achieving this milestone in just 97 innings, surpassing Hashim Amla’s record of 101 innings.
The ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 is scheduled to begin on October 5 in India, with Babar Azam leading Pakistan’s national side. Pakistan will commence their campaign on October 6 against the Netherlands.
