Root is only the fifth cricketer ever to cross the 13,000-run barrier in Tests, joining legends Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, and Rahul Dravid. Impressively, Root achieved the feat in just 153 matches—making him the fastest in terms of matches played.
