Kohli’s outstanding century prompted an outpouring of well-wishes and admiration from cricket enthusiasts around the world. However, when the Sri Lankan captain was questioned about whether he would extend his congratulations to Kohli for this accomplishment, his response was rather unexpected.

Mendis found himself addressing a pre-match press conference on a Sunday when a journalist raised the question. In response, the Sri Lankan player expressed his surprise and then delivered a somewhat perplexing reply, stating, “Why would I congratulate him, Virat Kohli?”
