Morne Morkel Will Miss Pakistan's First Training Camp Due to Visa Issues

Morne Morkel, Pakistan’s bowling coach, is having visa complications that have delayed his arrival in the country, hampering the national bowling unit’s training.

Morkel, who was recently added to the coaching staff, is yet to obtain the necessary visa to participate in the present training camp ahead of the important season.

According to a source within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), his participation in the preparatory camp has been jeopardised due to the non-issuance of his visa.

According to the source, the visa delay can be ascribed to the recent Eid ul Adha vacations and other weekly off days at the Pakistan embassy.

As a result, the former right-arm bowler will miss the training camp and will instead join the Pakistan cricket squad in Sri Lanka for the forthcoming Test series.

The 38-year-old fast bowler was slated to join the national side in the ongoing pre-Test series preparation camp against Sri Lanka.

PCB previously announced a six-member coaching staff led by Mickey Arthur with the goal of overhauling the team and enhancing its performance in upcoming events.

Andrew Puttick, a South African-born batting coach, joined the group at training camp for the white-ball series against New Zealand just days after the announcement.
