Renowned wicket-keeper batter, Mohammad Rizwan, has made the decision to withdraw from the highly anticipated Big Bash League (BBL) just days before the draft, which is scheduled for Sunday.
Media reports had previously indicated that Mohammad Rizwan was set to be one of the platinum picks in the BBL draft, taking place on September 3 in Australia. However, his national team commitments during the first half of the BBL season posed availability issues, leading to his withdrawal.
The BBL draft features a pool of 376 overseas players from 29 cricketing nations, including 76 Pakistani cricketers who have registered for the draft.

Prominent Pakistani players like Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Hasnain will be part of the draft for the league’s 13th edition. Several of these players, including Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, and Haris Rauf, have already made significant contributions by representing various franchises in previous editions of the league.
The Melbourne Stars have expressed interest in retaining Haris Rauf for the upcoming edition, supported by his impressive Big Bash record of 30 wickets. Additionally, Mohammad Hasnain is looking forward to his return to the competition after the ICC cleared him to bowl again following a ban related to an illegal action.
