Pakistan’s national rowing team made history at the Asian Indoor Rowing Championship held in Pattaya, Thailand, from May 26 to 31, securing an impressive total of 14 medals and finishing third overall.

The team’s medal tally featured a record-breaking 10 golds, along with 3 silver and 1 bronze, outperforming many established rowing powerhouses among more than 20 competing nations.

Asad Ali led the charge with five gold medals, while Maqbool Ali and Wali Khan each contributed two golds. Abdul Jabbar and Muhammad Shahzad earned a gold and a silver each, and Tayyab Iftikhar added one silver and one bronze to the team’s collection.

This remarkable achievement underscores Pakistan’s rising status in the sport of indoor rowing. On the medal table, Pakistan ranked just behind Thailand and India, cementing its growing influence in the Asian rowing scene.
