The 2025 West Asia Baseball Cup commenced in Karaj, Iran, with the Palestine national baseball team securing a commanding 6–1 victory over India in the tournament’s opening match.
This win marks a strong start for Palestine, building upon their impressive performance in the 2023 edition, where they finished as runners-up to Pakistan.

The Palestinian team, comprising players from both the United States and the Gaza Strip, has been steadily gaining recognition in the baseball community.
India, aiming to improve upon their previous performances, faced challenges in their opening game but will look to rebound in upcoming matches. The tournament features seven teams competing for the title, with the top two teams earning qualification for the Asian Baseball Championship.
Palestine’s next match will be against Sri Lanka, while India is set to face Afghanistan in their second game of the group stage. The tournament runs from May 15 to May 21, with all matches being held at the Karaj Baseball Stadium.
