PCB Clears Top Players for Global League Action This Summer

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to several leading cricketers, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan, allowing them to participate in international franchise leagues this summer. This move is part of the PCB’s effort to give players global exposure while managing their workload.

Under PCB rules, centrally contracted players can feature in only two foreign leagues per calendar year. The NOCs reflect this policy, ensuring a balance between domestic responsibilities and franchise commitments.

Notable leagues featuring Pakistani stars this season include the Big Bash League, County Cricket, Caribbean Premier League, and the Global Super League. Babar, Shaheen, and Rizwan are expected to headline the BBL draft on June 19, with others like Mohammad Amir and Shan Masood lined up for county action.

The PCB’s strategy not only aims to sharpen players’ skills in diverse conditions but also aligns with the modern cricket calendar, where franchise leagues now dominate the off-season.
