PCB Seeks Guidance from Ex-Cricketers for Crucial Decisions

Mohsin Naqvi has recently assumed the role of PCB Chairperson for a three-year tenure, following a brief period of leave, and is now ready to oversee Pakistan’s beloved sport.

Several key decisions, including the selection of coaches for the senior team, are currently under consideration.

Reports suggest that PCB authorities are contemplating the formation of an advisory committee comprising former cricketers. Their guidance will be sought for pivotal decisions.

Naqvi has brought in several officials from the Punjab government to the PCB, which has raised concerns among existing officials regarding job security. Efforts are underway to reassure employees about retaining their positions through various means.

It is reported that employees will prioritize matters concerning domestic cricket, infrastructure, and security. Naqvi is keen on undertaking mega projects and is enthusiastic about upgrading stadiums to potentially host the next Champions Trophy event in the country.

However, the prospect of hosting the event in Pakistan remains uncertain, with the likelihood of a 50/50 chance. Given historical tensions, India may decline to visit Pakistan, leading to the adoption of a hybrid model similar to the Asia Cup format.
