Mickey Arthur still believes Pakistan can play semifinals

Mickey Arthur, Pakistan’s team director, expressed his hopes for divine assistance on Monday, as the Green Shirts face a challenging path to the World Cup semifinals.

Arthur commented, “It’s uncertain how we’ll perform in this competition.”

“I genuinely believe we can reach the semifinals, but time will tell. We do know that by next Saturday, it will be within our grasp.”

“While we could potentially reach the semifinals with a touch of divine intervention, we still need to deliver strong performances. I believe we only played a perfect game once, and that was against Bangladesh,” he added.

Arthur also commended Fakhar Zaman’s outstanding performances.

According to Arthur, the 33-year-old left-handed batsman, Fakhar, has been “absolutely incredible” since joining the team.

“In tournaments like this, it often takes a spark to ignite the team, and Fakhar certainly did that for us.”

“We recognize his exceptional abilities when he’s in form. Fakhar has always had my full support because I believe he has the capability to turn matches around,” he added.

He mentioned, “It’s undeniable that Fakhar’s inclusion in the squad injected new life into our team. It was challenging without him initially, as his form was somewhat inconsistent heading into the tournament.”

“Whenever he’s at the crease, Zaman has a game-changing impact. The longer he stays, the more dominant we become,” Arthur emphasized.

Despite their recent struggles, having lost six of their last seven games, Arthur stressed the importance of Pakistan playing at their peak against England.
