Afridi first trapped Warwickshire captain Alex Davies leg-before-wicket for a golden duck after conceding five wides from the opening delivery while defending 169 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

He clean bowled Chris Benjamin with his very next ball, leaving the opposition stunned. Afridi then induced a catch to dismiss left-handed batter Dan Mousley for one run, extending his dominance.

When it appeared that Afridi had finished for the over, he produced a delivery that destroyed Ed Barnard’s off stump, leading in another first-ball duck. He left viewers in awe of his skill after finishing the first over with amazing figures of seven for four.

Despite Afridi’s stunning four-wicket haul, his team was unable to win. Birmingham Bears won with two wickets in hand thanks to opener Robert Yates’s gritty 46-ball 65 and vital contributions from the lower order, particularly twin 27s from Jacob Bethell and Jake Lintott.

With this incredible performance, Afridi has gathered a total of 20 wickets in 13 matches this season, establishing himself as Nottinghamshire’s best wicket-taker.
