Sunrisers Hyderabad’s troubled IPL 2025 campaign continues to spiral as their star opener Travis Head has tested positive for COVID-19. The Australian batter will miss the crucial fixture against Lucknow Super Giants scheduled for tonight in Lucknow.
SRH head coach Daniel Vettori confirmed the news, saying, “Travis is coming in tomorrow morning. He actually had COVID, so he couldn’t travel earlier. We’ll assess how he is after he arrives.” Head’s absence is a major blow for the team that has already struggled to find momentum this season.

With only 7 points from 11 matches, SRH are already out of playoff contention. The absence of their in-form opener adds to their woes, leaving the team with limited options at the top of the order.
As SRH prepares to face LSG at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, the team’s focus will now likely shift toward experimentation and regaining some pride in the final games of their season.
